When placing Garden Incense in the Spike, leave ½" -1' (13 mm - 25 mm) of the wooden stick exposed. This will allow you to remove the wooden stick once the Garden Incense has burned down. Do not push the Garden Incense into the Spike so far that the Incense itself touches the metal Spike.
